Violation: Settlers’ violence.

Location: Khallet Al Balluta / Bethlehem governorate.

Date: 13/11/2018.

Perpetrators: settlers of “Bait Ayin” illegal settlement.

Description:

Settlers of Beit Ayin sneaked into Khallet Balluta at  night , and wrote hatred inciting slogans on vehicles that belong to Palestinians featuring “Revenge” and “star of David” , and ruined several cars’ tires.

Lawyer Hussain Khalil told LRC reporter:

“This is the third attack on Khallet Al-Balluta this year, we live under continuous threats of settlers’ violence, especially that Khallet Balluta is a small village of 74 people, but surrounded by “Gush Etzion” cluster of settlements and divided by a colonial road, which makes it a hot spot for settlers’ violence.”

Villager of Khallet Al-Baluta Maysoun Khaleel told LRC reporter:

“ We live in residences built of zinc and bricks,  we are not allowed to do anything to enhance our livelihoods, whenever we build something new they demolish it”

In the same context, fanatic settlers headed to the town’s main entrance and drew “David’s star” as a kind of a provocative act.

 Hussain asserted: The Israeli occupation took over our water recourses, and then started selling water to us at 11 NIS per cube, on the other hand, settlers pay only 5 NIS per cube, this is only a glimpse of Israeli discrimination acts.
